CBIC amends notification on customs duty exemption for specified rice exports

The government has amended its Notification No. 55/2022-Customs, which exempted specified rice from customs duty when exported out of India. According to Notification No. 30/2023-Customs, the amendment changes the entry in column (2) of Sl. No. 1 to “1006 10 90” and adds a new entry, Sl. No. 1A, for “Rice in the husk (paddy or rough), of seed quality” with a nil rate of duty. The amendment comes into effect on April 11, 2023.
