DGFT Outlines Procedure for Importing Isopropyl Alcohol with Quantitative Restrictions for 2023-24

DGFT has issued a public notice outlining the procedure for obtaining a Registration Certificate (RC) for the import of Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) subject to Country-wise Quantitative Restrictions (QR) for the financial year 2023-24. A total of 132,440 MTs of IPA under ITC(HS) Code 29051220 will be allowed for import, with country-specific QRs in place for China, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan, the USA, and other countries. Indian importers must apply online for an RC on the DGFT website by April 20, 2023. The RC will be valid until the end of the financial year, and any excess utilization of QRs in one quarter will be deducted from the next quarter’s allocation. The DGFT reserves the right to make changes to the allocation process at any time.
