India Eliminates Minimum Import Price for Cashew Kernels

On February 21, 2023, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the elimination of the minimum import price (MIP) for cashew kernels (broken/whole) for 100% Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and units in the Special Economic Zones (SEZs), under the condition that the imported cashew kernels are not sold in the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA).

As per the amendment to the import policy condition for cashew kernels (broken) under ITC (HS) Code 08013210 and cashew kernel (whole) under ITC (HS) Code 08013220, the import of cashew kernels (broken/whole) will now be free if the CIF value is above Rs. 680/- per KG and Rs. 720/- per KG, respectively.
