Central Government amends Customs Notification No. 50/2017-Cus. for the Textile Industry and Rare Diseases Treatments

The Central Government has issued Notification No. 17/2023-Customs, amending the Government of India’s Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Notification No. 50/2017-Customs, on March 29, 2023.

The new S. No. 460A, 460B, 460C, 460D, and 460E have been introduced for the use of specific machinery and equipment in the textile industry, such as shuttleless looms, weaving machines, knitting machines, industrial sewing machines, and machinery for manufacturing nonwoven textiles. These items will be taxed at 5%
